Scholarships HPSL

The HPSL is offering full PhD scholarships, the NIHIN grants for open access publications of PhD theses and/or language corpora, and Sachmittelstipendien/Förderbeiträge, grants covering expenses for conference trips or other activities related to HPSL projects.

Currently, no scholarships are being offered.

LGFG scholarship

 The International Graduate Academy is awarding scholarships as per the State Law on Graduate Funding (LGFG) in two funding categories: 

1. Regular Doctoral Scholarships: a funding period of 24 months, which can be extended by twelve months. Another twelve months extension is possible for parents upbringing a child under 14 years. Begin of funding is 1 October or 1 November 2017.

2. Completion Scholarships for Completing a Dissertation: doctoral candidates who plan to submit their dissertation at the end of winter semester 2017/2018 and need completion funding. Up to six months funding period between 1 August 2017 and 31 January 2018. 

Submission period: 3 April – 3 May 2017

Application deadline is 3 May 2017, 3 pm at Albert-Ludwigs-University’s letterbox or the University‘s mailroom. Our receipt stamp is valid and not the date stamp of the post office! 

Applications submitted later will not be considered. 

Please note: Only complete applications will be passed on to the commissions for review. A screening of your documents in advance of deadlines is not possible. Therefore, please make sure your application contains all documents before submitting it.

HPCL, HPSL and the GRK 1624 gratulate Bernd Kortmann and his team (Katja Roller und Marten Juskan) on winning the Instructional Development Award 2016. Awarded was the project “FREDDIE (FReiburg English Dialect Database for Instruction and E-learning) – Eine multimediale Plattform für forschendes, korpusbasiertes Lernen.”
